Well, the rear drums are finally off the car. Thanks to all who corresponded here and by phone. Got a 10 ton gear puller from Posi-lock, put the axle nut back on loose with a large washer behind it, and with a 3 foot cheater on a 3/4 drive breaker bar on the puller, they popped. Sounded like a gunshot, but no real fanfare other than that. I highly recommend the Posi-lock, tho it wasn't cheap!

Thanks, Stan.
Unfortunately I already dissassembled the front brakes completely. Think the rear brakes only would work ok to drive her around the neighborhood?

Try driving a mile or two with the axle nuts just loose. You really have to use a factory type puller that screws into the knock off threads (one RH and one LH) with a large screw in the center. Often the hub requires some heat to break the rust loose on the taper.

Ok, I give up, how do I get the rear drums off the car? Wire wheel car, wheels are off, axle nuts off, tried a gear puller, whats next?
