I guess I should clarify my other post. The ornaments Auburn/Cord sells are solid stainless that is then flash chromed so they look correct. The stainless base just keeps it from pitting so it'll last forever.

I was thinking of one for a library shelf. I was intrigued by the low starting price on eBay but it quickly got out of hand.

My Cord 810 is crying out for more parts so I have to take care of that first.

Thanks for the information though. At least I know what someone is going to have to spend

They are made out of stainless. I believe they run $600-650. Auburn/Cord has them.

That's a pretty wide spread! I guess that beauty is in the eye of the beholder on all of this stuff.

I saw one one eBay a long time ago, (about when I posted the original message). I think it went for $400+
