It seems that the hole on the rear of the dome cover is for the screw that anchors that dome to the horn mechanism

Might be the hole reason is for the electrical feed line to the internals so the horn works?? On the back bell of my 4 Cord horns is a notch where the power wire runs to the internal coil.

The good news: the horn set from Pete arrived and both work and are in good shape. I need one horn screen and I'll be all set. Now for my question... there is a hole at the back of the horn mechanism cover... what is this hole for??

And here is a photo of the late Chris Mahoney's wonderful sedan so you can see a color view of the correct setup:

Hi Don,

Firstly the horns Ron Monte is selling are not correct for your car. Here is a crop of a factory photo I have that shows the horns and mounting in detail. You should be able to zoom in on this photo quite a ways:

The horns are chromed. Here is a picture of our 1933 Auburn 8 Solon Sedan. They attach to the rope of the splash pan next to the fender.

I looked at them but I still have questions: (1) how are they attached to the front fenders; and, (2) were the original horn chromed plated??

I'm looking for a picture of the horn set that would have been on a 1933 8 or 12 model Salon. I'd also appreciate any other information about such a horn set in order to narrow down my search.
