Mathew I am not sure which is right! There seem to be more with the lower snap position. I like the way the boot looks with higher snap position. For judging top needs to be up and boot just with car so at present I don't think it matters for judging. Also there seem to be varying opinions on the boot.

Gets more confusing as it goes. Who knew snaps could be so hard to place.

Here are my old part pictures. Note I found no screw holes at or near the top of wood. This is off a 1936l or 36 cabriolet I think. Note screws with rusty rings near package tray stops. Looks original to me. Please provide opinions/comments. Thanks
Craig

The flat head screw is actually part of the snap. It looks like they are made that way. I didn't know if this is an original snap. I admit the placement of the snaps on the original wood doesn't make sense.

Well the ones I can see well look like a flathead screw in duradot male side. So thats pretty early. Location of them still seems to vary. I have 1 original back of seat bracket ill check out and take a picture of tonight.

It appears that way. Craig, what do you think?

So are the snaps that are shown on my photos not original snaps? If they are not, this would explain their being in a different place.

The Durable dot fasteners are on the seat back.
The Lift-a-Dots are around the back of the tub. There are different lengths depending on the amount of top material .

Yes all had dura dots along the seat back and a couple had 1 to 3 along outside from door post pack. The original question I think was some we saw had the front edge of boot attached on the top of the seat back edge and some were attached lower on seatback closer to top of package tray. Which is right?

Craig, He showed durable dot fasteners. You show Lift-a-dot. Different animal.

Here are pictures of snaps in question. I asked a couple of the club Auburn experts (Curt is one also). They said they were not sure. Maybe Curt can comment on snap positions.

Rear Top Area Snaps was created by prattm
This is in reference to the snaps that hold the front edge of the top boot, when the top is in the down position. I was noticing in Auburn two different locations, one on top top edge of the back of the seat and second was on the top edge of the rapped wood directly behind the back of the seat. I get home and found a different location in some original cabriolet wood that I have.

I have included pictures of what I have and photos of the snaps. Are these correct period snaps that are mounted?
