Jim: Actually, the non-original filter you have is more efficient than the original-type low-flow filter. The replacable element is a good way to go, in my opinion.
Or: since these cars aren't driven much, frequent oil changes is a good alternative.

I'm not quite sure who made it but I have been able to track down a NAPA filter cartridge that will work. This car is just going to be a driver so I'm not worried about the filter being correct.

Thanks for all the help - I'm learning about Auburns now so there will be many more questions as I go. Hopefully the car will be at Auburn this year.

I have a couple of them if you need one.

Thanks everyone, I'm not suprised the oil filter is not correct considering the car is held together with bailing wire (still looking for the chewing gum) and all the other incorrect items I have found.

The filter in the pix is not correct for 35 - 36 six and eight. Look on my web site

Jim just a wild guess on my part but it looks a lot like the filter I used to put in my 1951 Buick Rivera 2 door hardtop..

I'm looking for the number and a source for the filter element. Here are photos of the filter and the element in the car.

Thanks for the answer Pete, but either I don't have a correct filter on the car or your memory is going because the PER-1/2 shown in the photo doesn't look anything like what I pulled out.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationRecalling from memory I think PB1/2 Purolator. The link below is about the same but may vary somewhat. It is a PER1/2

Does anybody have a part number and supplier for the oil filter element for a '34-36 6 cyl? All I can find is the original manufacture was Purilator but I haven't been able to find any other information. The one I pulled out is full of sludge and I didn't see any numbers on it.

Thanks!

P.S. I'm not going to use a roll of toilet paper - That's a critical supply in case another panic hits.
