Haven’t broken one yet. When the lug bolt talks back to me by going EEEEECCCCHHHH., I stop.

Cliff - I thought that was your perfered method on Cord Wheel lug bolts?

DO NOT follow this suggestion I heard many, many years ago. “Tighten it until it breaks, and then back it off a 1/2 a turn.

I just do it by feel and try to have that feel evenly - does not take much torque to seat properly either

Fully understanding there were not torque specifications for pre-war cars, can someone recommend what torque you would tighten an exhaust manifold on a 851 cold?
