I've noted your suggestion,Starting with the valve cleaning and adjustment.
Then the carb .
I was thinking of using a non original carb and find a better carb that would fit.
The EE-1 has quite a history.
Thanks again.

Your powerjet/economizer in the carb could be leaking and it causes extra fuel to run in on lower rpm's. It's the jet under the accelerator pump.

Been ready your comments on line on other matters.
Thanks for the tips on the gas octane and Carb float.
I'll check on the carb during the re-build.
Big Thanks, Paul

My 851 is not s/c.
I thought the std 851 plug was a Champion J6.
But I not trying to stay original with the plugs
Would you continue the J6 to get clean burning.

going to adjust valves, but now going to remove valves and clean them first.
Been using Sunoco gas 93 octane.
Going to have someone re-build carb and try to lean the mixture.
Them after the valves are adjusted and back together ,was going to set distributor on the upper limit of the advance.
With this info, what heat range spark plug or what brand and number spark plug are others using?
Any advice would be more than welcome.
Thanks in advance. Paul
