I would be interested in everyone else's opinion but my observation says that 90% of all speedsters are compromised in some way. Also, looking at cars which have sold for top dollar recently, I'm the only guy who cares if a car has its original data plates.

The Glenn Pray reproduction bodies in fiberglass mounted on original chassis are actually very nice - I would not discount just because of the fiberglass body as a lot of club members have them, they are fun, and they do hold a decent value too. The give away in your photos is the all fiberglass top lid cover.

Update: It is a fiberglass body on a original chassi with original engine (probably removed sedan body).

I have decided not to buy this car.

Thanks for all the help from members, especially olamart!

I think the dataplate should be nailed to the floor board. Look close to the hole in the body near the dataplate looks too thick for steel. I say REPO.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Hej Ola,

I found out that the car sits in a garage just 2 miles from were I live. Is it possible for me to determine if it is real if I can have a close look at it?

The information in the ad basically just say that it has not been registered for road use since 1995, the engine has not been started and that it has been rebuilt over the years.

You must determine if it is real! If you can't determine that be ware. $39.000 tells me it is not real. A real one is worth 6 figures. The tag on the car is a reproduction. If it was real the seller would represent it as such. If they don't it probably isn't

I only got these pictures so I can´t tell. It´s late here in Sweden so I can´t get hold of the responsible person right now (online auction).

A value with fiberglass and one with the real stuff would be nice right now.

Hello,

I´m from Sweden and I just found a Auburn 8-98 boattail 1931 at an auction house here in Sweden.

I really like the car but have no clue of what I should pay for it.

I only have a few pictures, so a rough estimate is all I´m asking for.

Regards,
Patrik
