BTW - mine is a Ford 302/C4 with the 1964-67 Econoline front axle.
So far we have redone the fuel system including tank and carb, radiator, brakes, some wiring and all the usual stuff when they are not driven for 20 years....

Thanks for your offer. We tried a 68-70 Torino part but it was too wide. Also the mounting bolts were too wide. The one on the car had a disc/drum (2 different size chambers) unit with passenger side ports. We checked at brake parts warehouse but could not find a match. While doing internet searches I found this site and signed up. There was a member with post from 2007 that said they had original diagrams and was hoping he was still online. I am not a ACD member but just started to get this SAMCO Royale back on the road after 20 years. Just bought it from the son of a gentleman that passed away.

I have a friend that also owns a Samco Royale with the 440. He is currently restoring it. He said that he thinks it is most likely a Ford part from 68 to 70 but that they also used Chrysler parts of the period. He is very knowledgeable on these cars….I am not…..as I own and specialize in Auburn Boattail Speedster replicas. If you would like to talk with him, please feel free to contact me. I’m not too sure how we do that through this website. I am an ACD member. Regards JEROME

I also just picked up a Warrior Royale and need to replace the master cylinder.
Spent and hour at the brake specialty shop with no luck.
Anyone know the master cylinder brand and year.?
Thanks

ACDMAN, are you still a member here? I could use your help if you are.

Could you please help me decipher a SAMCO serial number? After a few hours on the interweb I think I've figured out that it was a Royale with a 440. It's s/n 59R-1043-C. This is the number on the bill of sale from when he purchased it and may be missing a zero at the beginning of the number? My Father bought this car December 22 1969 in Vancouver B.C. Canada. There is some evidence that this was the only one in Canada at that time. He came across this car a few years after he had sold it and it was in rather poor condition. Ideally I'd like to find this car and restore it. Any help at all with info on this (or the SAMCO cars in general) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Bart

The Samco's were deliviered with two different engines:

Royale: Chrysler 440 Magnum
Warrior: Ford 302.

The Royale also had longer wheelbase

I have a Samco Serial no 54. I have been told the frame and running gear is International Harvester. Anyone have any experience with a disc brake conversion for the front.

Hello: I to am an owner of a 1970 Samco Cord. The front end of the car is a 1 ton Ford van straight axle. You should be able to get brakes from that. Duane
