Interesting comment Mike. With the hood open air is able to pass thru the radiator naturally so it will cool much better than keepping the hood closed. Hot air will become trapped under the hood too. If I choose to work on my 89 Ford diesel after a drive I open the hood. It cools down quickly. I'm not a happy mechanic working on hot engines. Did way too much of that with the wifeys Jag V12. I grew to hate seeing her call me because it was always a Jag problem.

It looks like the holes solved the problem. The hood isn't up! I tried the hood up trick when we were in Florida with the Speedster to see how much difference it would make while we had lunch. I couldn't believe how much the temp. dropped over lunch. Way more than if I had left it down.

With brakes, two cylinders are better than one.

Hi,
I noticed the two vent holes also, and I wondered if they could be used to identify who owned this Cord.
Anyone have insight as to this car's history?

Looks like vent holes to me, I thought maybe this picture was on the ACD club site before, maybe the other one had square holes in the front hood. And early attempt to get venting to engine.

Are those two vent holes in the front of the hood?
