Hi,

First, GREAT car, Bill. :D

Second, is that side-mounted antenna original? My 37 Westchester had one, and I assumed it was an after-market add-on.

Again, GREAT car.

Wonderful car, Bill!

The radio antenna is a 30s-50s auto supply store accessory. Most of us with radios added a whip antenna in the 50s, because you could get very little reception with the Cord's stock undercar antennas.

It never ceases to amaze me that there are still a couple of Barn Cords waiting to be discovered. You have a very cool collectible find here. Congratulations Bill - we are looking forward to seeing the pics of the re-build in progress.

Bill Hummel replied the topic: Barn Find
I'm going to bring it "as is" so that the members can see that Barn Finds are still out there. With the age of original owners creeping up, I suspect there will be more of these as family members struggle with what to do with them.

The first folks that talked to the widow were hot-rodders who described all sorts of nasty things they were going to do with it.

Even I can tell this car has already gone through some changes back in the 50's. The interior is not pleated so those are new seats. The dash and wheels were a forest green color. So it is not the "Holy Grail" we are looking for.

But! Look at the head bolts in picture number 4. Josh Malks tells me, that those are the real McCoys. See how they stick up? Things like this, I want the members to see. Maybe we can get someone to make up exact copies?

Josh, you diid well with the steering wheels, how making us up a bunch of new head bolts?
