My dad will go to his grave convinced that those engines are gray so that one is too. As a team player I'm in with him :-). The lighting is bad in the picture so I guess it's hard to tell the color.

The engine was completely done, installed and running and he was getting water in the oil pan. Out it came to get torn down again. The final conclusion was that the head gasket had gotten pinched somehow as they could find nothing wrong with the block. It is ready to go back in again.

Are you using the big bore gasket or the standard bore? Is head and block flat? Are you retorquing the head multiple times? I had to remove right fender to remove and install to clear supercharger drive houising.
