It was very profitable. He sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of parts and service from 1938 to 1961. And he used the building to house his usd car operation. Then Glenn Pray paid him the same amount to buy the leftover parts as he paid for the whole stash in 1938. Plus he sold the Duesenberg name. Winslow never took in partners.

That sounds like a lot of money for 1938. Was it profitable for him? Did he have partners?

On this day in 1938 Dallas E. Winslow, Inc. purchased the parts stock of Auburn and Cord plus the rights to the tradenames Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg for $85,000. The administration building in Auburn (now the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Automobile Museum) went for an additional $25,000.
