I have a 70-year old rear window in my 36 Cord Cabriolet that looked pretty bad. I chromed the outside of my large 24? x 8? oval window. That was the easy part. I considered chroming the inside of my oval, but club members told me that if I really wanted to be authentic, the inside should be tan to match the cloth top. Chroming the inside was now out of the question.

The inside of my window frame looked like beige or tan plastic with 16 screws. The frame looked like it had rust or some sort of growth all over it. I was afraid to scrub too hard on it for fear of discoloring the tan frame.

I have a SonicCare toothbrush that vibrates the tip at a very high rate. My tip needed replacing so I decided to use the toothbrush on the oval frame. I used some Cascade dishwasher soap that looked like toothpaste. It felt mildly abrasive.

Within 10 minutes, my oval window cleaned up without discoloring the surface or leaving abrasion marks.

Don?t forget to replace your ultrasonic tip before you brush your teeth!
