Do you notice the perspective in the shot? Fine automotive art.

The Duesenberg automobile of this stature would usually be photographed alone from the side and try to cut off all other objects, including people.
And Mrs Jones red coat, WOW that is incredible kodachrome color, or a very good scanner, and the gloves, It is breathtaking. Just like being there.

P.S. With the overcast lighting, he must have used a light meter or known about a f-stop setting, and color film must have been more costly than B&W.
