If what others have said about you is true, you won't have a problem...EggBeaters are pasteurized, which kills salmonella bacteria. You could drink them raw and not have a problem. (Well, you would have a problem...but you wouldn't get sick!)

At the Warm-Up Meet the Auburn Inn seemed little-changed, except for the missing photos of owners and their cars that used to be on the walls. Breakfast as good as always (although since I've never met an egg I liked, I didn't try the omelets).

See you soon; have a safe trip.

I'm not letting the Salmonella outbreak stop me. Hopefully I won't get nailed, but if I do, it will help me shed this last 30 pounds ... real quick!

May I suggest you tell your waitress that you are with the ACD Club when you dine?

We don't get a special discount, but they will get the idea that we are supporting them and they will appreciate it. Our Club brings a lot of $$$$ to Auburn. They will give you better service when they know which Club you are with.

During the ACD National Reunion, I always stay at the Auburn Inn. They bring in a couple of cooks and set up two breakfast bars. The omelets they make for the guests are free and pretty tasty.

The Auburn Inn is under new ownership. I do not know if they will continue this tradition. Either way, I am probably going to patronize the Auburn House of Pancakes and order my usual [i:2ezoj9e4]Cinco de Eggo[/i:2ezoj9e4]. See you there!

I have eaten them both ways. I only get 1500 calories a day. Substituting egg beaters for the 5 eggs saved me 400 calories. That's about 25% of my daily alottment. I give my hash browns to whomever wants them.

The egg substitute is very good and other than a lighter texture, I have a very difficult time tasting the difference.

And Joan, I have hit my 20 as part of your challenge. How about you? There is still time!

You've ate in that building for years....
Auburn House (Dave Costa)
Auburn House (Jimmy Costa)
Auburn House (run by someone else.....)
Auburn House of Pancakes (present business)

Last time I was there, they started putting car memorabilia back on the shelves.

Bill,

Tell the truth.......you eat only egg beaters. And plenty of them at that.
I know cause I was there.

And I agree with all. The service, food and atmosphere is great, especially for breakfast.

If you like breakfast as much as I do, then I recommend that you stop by the Auburn Restaurant. Here was my 5-EGG omelet with a half-pound of hash browns. Not exactly MAN vs. FOOD, it was more like Mini-Me vs Food. It was still a ton of eggs! Fast service, and very tasty entrees.

I have eaten there 4 or 5 times since the new owners took over, and this place is good and cheap!
