Frankly, I've had them for so many years that I don't remember their origin!

It is possible that the ACD Museum might know. Try calling Jon Bill, their Archivist. If you find out, let us all know!

Josh,

Thanks for the great info.

I'm trying to understand the origin of the material. You're saying that you had these films on videotapes. Who made the videotapes?

I guess I'm really trying to find out who has original film prints of these films.

More info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm not sure in what state they currently exist. A long time ago I converted some of them (and other Cord clips) to Quicktime files, and streamed them to my website, Cordnet ( www.automaven.com ). Had to take them down a couple of years ago, but hope to put them up again this year.

Thanks for your reply, Josh.

Any idea who owns film prints of these movies? Are they only available on videotape?

Thanks again. ---Todd Ruel

Auburn ceated several dealer films. In the 1920s, "Making Pleasure Makers" showed how Auburns were built. In 1935, they did a brief introduction of the Cord 810. We don't know how long this was, but only about 30 seconds survive.

Dear Friends,

Did Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg ever create any promotional movies, sound recordings, or dealer training filmstrips?

I know such things are uncommon for the period of time that A-C-D was in business, but I own a Graham-Paige film from 1929, some Pontiac radio commercials from 1935, and I know of some 1932 Pierce-Arrow dealer training filmstrips, so such things are not impossible.

Are any of you aware of any similar vintage media for A-C-D?

Thanks! ---Todd Ruel
