The E.L. Cord car is the only F-88 left of the two or so originally built. I believe Bortz owned it at one time, but Gordon Apker (who also owns Paul Whiteman's Cord 812 SC Cabriolet and Duesenberg J-108/2134) was the one who put it back together again.
Corrections welcome if I'm wrong.

May be wrong here... doesn't Joe Bortz have something like this in his collection? It's been a long time since I saw the collection in the museum, so I can't really remember and I taped over my VHS tape with something more important that cars - Little Rascals... <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt="" title="Embarassed" /><!-- s:oops: -->

As kids, we would run all around Cordhaven. It was so large that it seemed you never saw the same place twice.
On several of my trips through the garage, I spotted boxes of car parts. When I asked what they were, I was told they were a Corvette. At 6 or 7 years old, I wasn't sure what a Corvette was. But I know now, it wasn't a Corvette after all.
Here's a link to an earlier post about this auto.

I know I did it to you guys again, but this time there isn't a "new Cord" well there almost was. I ran across this story when I was doing some research for my website it seems that E.L. Cord wasn't quite done with the car business in 1954. He was thinking of giving it one more try. He made a deal with Harley Earl or so it is rumored. It is a fact that the two men knew each other. The Car was built by Oldsmobile but ordered destroyed by GM,instead the car was disassembled and crated up and sent to California to E.L.Cords estate where it sat in his garage in crates for an unknown period of time. So instead of boring you with a story about this car I'll just post the link so you can see it for yourself.
