We've got the Gyronaut on display, front and center, at the MidAmerica Auctions tent at the entrance to the show, just to generate some sponsorship support. Vince Gardner built its body along with Alex Tremulis, and there's also the Vince Gardner Special on the field on Sunday. So he's been well-represented.

Here's a few pics of ACD's up close. I figured you'd get a kick out of 'em. You already know which ones they are. And, of course, Alex's side exhausts on one of R&S's 812's on the streets of Monterey. Some pretty nice cars just milling about. One guy pulled up his Bugatti Veyron in front of the Lodge at Pebble Beach and got yelled at to "move it off to the side of the road". When the driver of a Veyron is treated like he's in an AMC Pacer, it can only be this one special weekend (nothing against Pacers, mind you).

J-151 is one of my favorite Duesenbergs and I consider that price a bargain.

The Blue-J price seems low to me too, but I guess the bidders were factoring in the 600k plus to restore the car. I probably would leave it as is myself.

The over restoration of that car would be a crime. I agree with AJ.Leave it alone, drive it,enjoy it.These grossly over done cars represent to me,a
major problem with the hobby. The "hobby"has become one big auction
after another and even if I could afford a "J" at today's prices, I would never make a bid on one. Standing around one at a car show getting an ulcer worrying about it doesn't sound like fun either. Leno has the right idea. Bring them back to new then drive them right into the ground and then redo it again.
Most peole that know me know I have little respect for useless relics of
bygone times and that includes ALL cars, guns and aircraft or anything else.

Hello,

does someone know the prices of the two Duesenberg cars, which were auctioned by Gooding on Sunday?
