Cars heading to auction this weekend:

GOODING:
Model A 1646 / D64B Bender Sedan
J-270 / 2292 LeBaron Phaeton (Bill Pettit estate)
J-355 / 2225 Murphy Convertible Sedan
J-430 / 2238 Willoughby Limousine
J-560 / 2585 Rollston JN Convertible Coupe (ex-Clark Gable)

MECUM:
J-306 / 2402 Willoughby Limousine

RM:
J-108 / 2134 Murphy Convertible Coupe
J-151 / 2132 Murphy Sport Sedan

What do you think will be the top sale of the weekend, and/or the biggest surprise? Both the Pettit car and the Gable car are attracting huge interest.

Hello Chris,

J-560 would be the top-sale of the Dueseys @ Monterey auctions.

I like the car J-270 (and its patina/scars of history) very much. Maybe the car will go for more than the estimate. We will see.

It would be interesting aswell how much the hammerprice difference between the two (very similar looking) Willoughby Limousines @Mecum and Gooding will be.

Cheers

Matt

It sure would be nice to see Bill's car go to someone who would maintain & excercise it as Bill used to. I talked with him briefly at the "drag races" a couple of years ago, it seemed to be running pretty well then. Been one of my personal favorites for many years, interesting on a number of levels.

That's OK, Tom, you still have plenty of time to find it before the end of the weekend. :D
