Hello Duesi-Fellows

I am still confused about the numbers of my car, a 1923 (or 25) Model A. Hopefully somebody could clear this up.

Here are the known facts.

1. There is a frame number 795 on the front cross member, LH (hard to be seen in this pic, but very clear visible at the frame)

Does it look like original? Is the location and appearence like original?
Are these numers identical with the Serial number and the VIN?

The available documentation starts with a list of cars from a former owner in the Sixties, with the numbers 989 and 1008, year 1923:

Next is a Title from 1966,
the VIN in this title is 1008, the year is committed to 1925.

This number is identical with the Engine-Number:

The next document is ACD-Certificat from 1988, with the Serial-Number changed from 989 to 795 (which is the actual frame number), and the year defined as 1925 too.

Then follows an ACD-Certification Team Report from 1989 (with year 1923 and Serial-Number 795):

And finally I have an ACD-Certificat from 1990, with both Serial-Numbers (795, 1008) and both years (1923 and 1925):

Considering the Serial Numbers as listed in Fred Roes book from 1982 the Serial-No. 795 matches the year 1923, as does No. 989 too. But a Serial-No. 1008 should match the year 1924 instead of 1925.

The Engine-Numbers starting with No.1100 in 1922. Whats up with my Engine number 1008? Are there any other Engine Numbers known before 1100?

All these contradicting numbers are pretty confusing to me. Possibly in the 60ies they took the Engine-Number as Serial Number and made a mistake regarding the year. But wherefrom comes the Serial-No.989? In the ACD-Newsletter #7-96 Fred Roe refers to this car as a renumbered car, as Randy does too.

Is it possible somebody changed the frame or the engine? Or am I talking about two different cars?
Can I be shure about an original Frame Number as Serial-Number....?

Every lead is welcome. Thanks in advance
