Hey, I have that book....
and you are right Chris there is a piece on the Biddle. I will take the time to read it. That book also has a nice spread on the Model J Duesenberg.

Beverly Rae Kimes wrote an excellent history of the Biddle for Automobile Quarterly many years ago; I believe it's included in the AQ book "Great Cars & Grand Marques." The title is "A Little About the Biddle." :D

Those distinctive hood lines would appear to confirm it's Biddleness.

Hi,

I found an advertisment on line for Biddle Automobiles. The hood certainly has a distinctive set of lines to it.

See p. 50 in this year's Reunion book for more on the Duesenberg-engined Biddle.

Hi,

This from wikipedia:

A Biddle advertisement, appearing in Life Magazine in 1917 confirms that the car was ?assembled? from parts produced by others, including a top-quality Duesenberg motor, and that it reflected European styling. The roadster shown in the ad closely resembles a contemporaneous Mercedes Benz sport model, with its deeply V-ed radiator, cycle fenders, wire wheels and step plates. From its dramatic prow, the long hood-line sweeps back to a raked windshield spanning an aeronautical cowl, then drops to the rakish line of its cut-down doors and finally flows into a streamlined tail.

Duesy engine.... I guess Biddle is a cousin...

I tend to agree with Ropat about it being a Biddle. On the other hand,it could be almost anything because most cars of that time frame looked SOOOOO much alike it's hard to say for sure.ONE thing IS for sure,it isn't a Ford.

Bill I?m almost certain it?s a Biddle, V shape radiator and shorter, only 120? or 121? wheelbase, compared to the 134? or 141? of the early Duesenbergs.

Something about the shape of the hood and the grille makes me think it might be an Owen Magnetic but thats just a wild ass guess.

As in Louis Comfort Tiffany, of stained glass fame, at his house, Laurelton Hall. (Per the e-mail Bill sent me earlier.)

Here is a picture of Mr. Tiffany next to his car. Can anyone tell me what kind of car this is? Someone thought it might be an early Duesenberg, but it doesn't look like one to me.
