Sadly I've never had enough time free in my schedule to make it, and this year is no exception. <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very sad" /><!-- s:cry: --> I'm going to try very hard for next year. Have they chosen what car 2007 will be "The Year Of?"

Chris,

I thought I might have those numbers, but a quick look did not turn them up. Perhaps someone else will weigh in.

Are you coming to Auburn this year?

My father lived in West Virgina for a number of years. He and Melvin used to drive their Duesenberg's to Auburn together. We have a 32 DC Phaeton LeGrande Body SJ. Melvin's other cars have all been sold. I believe the Packard Body car is in the Chicago area, the Open car with dual carbs I thnk is owned by Chris Yaggi (sp) and the Murphy is in a private collection. It is still in original condition and a beautiful car.

...and I'm sorry to hear that. I've heard he really enjoyed driving his cars, especially the Phaeton, something so few owners do today, and I wish I had known him.
By the way, Mike, do you know the numbers for the Convertible Coupe, for my records?

Melvin died a few years ago. I believe the family kept his Murphy convertible coupe. The green Lebaron phaeton was for sale, and had been on display at the ACD museum for a couple of years, but I can't remember if it was still there last year or not. I believe he had sold his other Duesies prior to his death.

I miss talking with him at Auburn.

Living in West Virginia, I'm interested to know of any Duesenbergs that have been here over the years. I know J-487 was here in the 1950s. Is Melvin Clemmens still living? Is his collection still together?
Thanks!
