Bill Hummel created the topic: All ACD marques make the 100 COOLEST CAR list
I was getting depressed at the Kruse Auction over Labor Day, when a Cord and a Packard couldn't bring any offers near $100,000.00

I was in disbelief when a CAMARO brought a bid over $1 Million. :rolleyes:

Now comes the 100 COOLEST CARS of all time in this month's Automobile Magazine.

Coming in at 69 - an Auburn Boattail Speedster <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o -->
Coming in at 29 - A Cord 810/812 Cabriolet <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

and at #6 ... Duesenberg J/SJ/SSJ <!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="8)" title="Cool" /><!-- s8) --> <!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="8)" title="Cool" /><!-- s8) -->

This may be a world's record time lapse for an answer to a post, but I just saw it, the list.

Whoever came up with that list needs to be locked up and looked after, and fed with a spoon. How extensive was the survey that came up with that list? Sounds to me like one guy's opinion.

I can almost agree with number one, but even that is just a personal opinion. I was amazed at some of the cars on the list, and even more amazed at some of the cars that weren't. The Auburn speedster deserved better than it got on the list.

I've driven virtually every car on that list and my interpretation of cool is evidently different that lots of folks.

I found it by going to google and typing in 100 coolest cars of all time.

What's on your list? We don't need all 100. About about the top 10 or 20?

You know, I just about agree with their top ten list. I dis-agree with most of the others.

I had decided that I wasn't going to get involved in this discussion, but I can't restrain myself any longer. A list like this is ludicrous because each car is designed to appeal to a particular segment of the market when it is new and, therefor, appeals to a particular segment of the market when it becomes collectible. Full Classic automobiles of the 1930s are in a league of their own compared to a Corvette or Mustang.

Placing a Corvette in front of a Dusenberg, Cord, or Aubun Speedster is like placing a velvet picture of Elvis in front of the Mona Lisa.
