After the send off for Jack, we are on the road heading toward Chattanooga. I have pictures, but with my new computer I haven't figured out how to post pictures.

Hello Joan and Mike,

I hope you will find out how to post the pictures with your new electronic gadget.

I like your (pictured) road-trip reports very much and I began to miss them <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

Here is something for on the road https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF1JnbISh9Y

Cheers and bon voyage

Thanks for the song. Back when you didn't need tattoos and piercings to prove you had talent.

This morning we drove through Cincinnati and Lexington. It was hot and the traffic was awful. Plus we got to stop at every red light for miles and miles of slow going.
After Lexington we drove through the tobacco fields and horse farms. The tree lined streets and the fence-lined farms were gorgeous. Thanks to the trees the heat factor was better as well.
I have attached a picture of the packed car. It is literally stuffed, with Mike?s tools, a car cover, tonneau cover, bags of tools and spare parts, as well as the top, and spare tire and our clothes. I brought soap tabs to do laundry, but we each have clothes for 4 days plus I brought a dress for the funeral and the banquet. Luckily it should be warm the entire 10 days.
We traveled about 280 miles today. We blindly followed our Garmin, wishing we had brought our maps so we could have chosen a path to avoid the above-mentioned cities. Hopefully we can figure out a way to avoid them on the way home.

Today we drove the rest of the way to Chattanooga. It was a short 80 mile trip up and down just one mountain. One of the pictures I attached is the view from the scenic pullout. Mike didn?t like it when I asked him to pull over because it was only about ? of the way up the mountain. It?s hard to get rolling again after you stop on a sloop.

We arrived at Chattanooga before lunch, checked out the host hotel and headed for our own. We had lunch then attended the Car Show at Coker Tire. Lots of cars, all kinds. The museum was open as well. Many people stopped to look at and photograph the Auburn. They could not believe we drove a car like that from MI.

I'm sure they also couldn't believe the amount of bugs on the front! They can't fly out of the way on this car.
