The best part of "private" car shows is being able to walk away and listen to other people talk about your car. Tonight we parked at the hotel, walked to the restaurant, and didn't have one person ask about our car at the restaurant.

I've just read your posting for today and I am so impressed with your trip. It takes real gumption to do what you are doing, and, I don't think, many car owners would venture out like you have. Of course, having a great car helps, plus the mechanic who knows what to do when the car won't start or spits and sputters. I wish you continued good weather, no more snakes or tornados and a safe journey.

This is a Fordson tractor that was used as a well casing puller. The cable pulling the casing was attached to the front spool and the tractor used to turn the spool and pull up the casing.

This is a Natural gas well drilling rig. It is self contained, and moves from one location to another. Workers live on the site in trailers. The wells are drilled about 1800 feet deep and it takes about a month to complete the well.

These are putt putts. There are several of these staying at our hotel tonight. They run on railroad tracks, and have tours similar to our car tours.

Yet another, car on a post
Today we traveled to Clinton, OK. We spent several hours in Lawton, OK, where Mike and I spent our first few months of married life, about 40 years ago. We tried to find our first house, but never found it; Not surprising, since neither of remembered the address.
Traveling today was very interesting. We stopped and asked about the tractor we saw, and they advised us to go to an oil drilling museum. Later we saw the gas rigs, and when we stopped for supper, there were a group of guys that worked on the gas rigs. At our hotel tonight, we met a group of putt putt owners.

Windmills in Taloga, OK.; notice which is working. The new windmills were just installed last week. There were 54 located in this town. None of them were running.

Longhorn cattle in OK panhandle.

One of the nice old water towers that caught our eye

Our first sighting of mountains. It?s supposed to snow tonight. Mike drained the water from the radiator.

Today, we traveled from Clinton, OK to Clayton, NM. It has been windy all day. We learned at supper tonight they are predicting snow tonight. Guess we are heading south again tomorrow.
