Mike said he couldn't figure out whether the mailbox was for sale or lease or if it was the building behind it. He would have liked to buy it so that he could drive it down to pick up the mail each day. It looked like the mailbox was ready to drive away and park at your house.

It rained last night so we got a later start this morning. It takes Mike about 45 minutes to get the car packed and ready. He takes the cover off and rolls it up. Then he checks the oil, carries out our ?luggage? and packs the car. We set the Garmin, and we are off.
Today we thought there would be a shortage of photo opportunities. We began talking about different yard and porch decorations and thought you would enjoy seeing some. We especially liked the blue rabbit and cars on the porch.

As we drove we discussed what different crops were, however we were stumped on a couple of them. We asked a couple of the locals at lunch, but they couldn?t tell us from our description. After lunch, we saw another field of this crop and we pulled over at a nearby business and asked what they were growing. The answer was weeds, soon to be planted with cotton. LOL
Later we were driving through a suburb and saw this sign. I?m not sure; did they think that an Auburn was a European Classic?

In Florida, we drove past this potash mining operation. This mountain of potash was about a half-mile long and 300 foot high. We drove back to this heavily guarded restricted site to take some pictures, figuring no one would suspect the ?35 Auburn didn?t belong there.

It started out foggy this morning as we drove as many back roads as we could toward Bradenton. We are visiting my sister, Sally and her husband at their Florida retreat. It was very warm, upper 80?s, and we both had our short pants on. It is getting hard to find room for all our warm clothes that we are no longer wearing in the car.

This is an Ice cream shop near Dade City.

The Spanish moss hanging from the trees and the canopy of trees along the roadways were gorgeous.

We will be staying in Bradenton for a couple of days. Our daughter is coming tomorrow. Monday we will head across the state for the citrus meet.
