Once, when asked by an overly ambitious parts guy if I needed any help, I asked for an upper radiator hose for a 1967 Karmen Ghia. He never did find the part number in his listing...

Well, when i wanted to order a set of muffler-bearing, he said he's sold out, but he has several cans of uppertyreair for half price now, which is preventing tyreairloss.
But he also said that sending it to Europe there is a additional extra- hazardus-surcharge on it. :(

The more i know, the more i realize that i don't know enough.

When I was Korea I drove for the Post Office (APO) in various types of vehicles. The ongoing sport was to try to get fake parts orders past the motor pool clerk, and on to the ordnance depot where the parts were distributed down to the lower units.

We ordered things like crankcase keys, brake shoe re-finishing fluid, contra-rotating main shaft support bracket, and skid proofing.

One day I submitted a parts request that went past the clerk, past the motor officer, and all the up to the commanding colonel of the ordnance depot. He sent it back with a nasty little note wanting to know if the motor officer's mother had any kids that made it past the first grade.

What I ordered was: 'An inner tube for the fifth wheel on a five ton tractor.'

And you can keep all your goodies clean with a couple of buckets of prop wash from your local airport.

Yes, and I'll take a sky hook and fifty ft of shoreline. And a left-handed coffee pot.

Aw come on Ken, if you don't know what they are, call Dick and order a set. You'll be glad you did.

I saw Dick Greene at the 2006 Texas Meet last weekend. He informed me that he has a good supply of NOS Muffler Bearings.

Concerned about their quality? If so, you don't know Dick.
