I am aware of this. My hard chrome is running on 660 bronze bushings in the gears. 660 is also known as 932 bronze. The shop i had do this work for me asked what the material was running on the chrome explaining I COULD NOT run needel bearings on any hard chrome. The explanation given was the load on the chrome from the needle bearing will ruin both surfaces. Thanks for bringing this up for many others to learn from too. Everything I do on my restoration is posted on this forum for others to see and learn from.

I am not familiar with Cord 810/12 trans but you are aware hard chrome can't run against hard chrome.

Yes.. That hard chroming was done after the three areas were ground undersize for the chrome. Then it was electronically hard chromed. then it was ground to my specifications I provided from the A.S. Ayers Club trans manual. I even photo copied the page explaining where and what to chrome but leave others areas alone. Still very happy with quality of work. Today I finished all three gears bushings I made to fit with. about 1 3/4 thousands clearance.....

Yesterday I picked up my trans sleeve after having it hard chromed. I'm impressed with the quality and the cost. My demensions came out as directed I wanted 1.801 to 1.802 on the two areas.I got 1.8015. The other demension was needed to be 1.495. They gave me 1.4952. Yes.. I actually can measure that small of a dimension. Here are some pics.
