Hello Jim. Thanks very much for the answer. My two piece name tag came with this car in 1961 so I have no idea why it was a two piece other than it may have been the only name tab someone before me could find. So I have something to sell now. Thanks again.

The two piece emblem on the transmission covers were L-29. The factory uses left over ones on the early 810 Cord. The later 810'a and all the 812's came with the one piece emblems.

What trans name tag does my 1937 Cord serial number 1748S require? I have found the one piece and the two piece..Or does it really matter only to judging if that ever happens. In my restoration I have strived to only do or restore once no matter the cost in time nor funds. Both have limits.
