Does the chrysler unit need modification to work on a Cord or will it work as is?  Also, will the Chrysler valence side piece work with Cord style latches?

Thanks!

Your "valence piece" with holes is the same as on my '37 renumbered '36 Armchair Beverly fastback. The one shown in my picture on the right with integrated studs was one I obtained probably along with the "Chrysler" latches some years back.
You could reproduce a cover for over the keyhole without too much trouble.

Well my latch looks like this but I do not have the cover on mine. My lower valance piece looks like the part on the left with the holes in it.I even have the original bolts and screws with that piece. Seems the more I know.. the less I know... Cords had plenty of revisions as Josh once mentioned long ago.

The difference is in the cover over the key hole. I've never seen the "Chrysler" version on an actual car, but in the early '70's at Carlisle I saw a trunk lid that had them. The vendor said it was from a '35 Plymouth.
The receiving part that attaches below the lid is the same, for either side. I have found two versions of these, one with a slight bend inward at about the bottom of the "hook", the other smooth.

Late this afternoon my locking trunk latch with key came in. I have to say I'm really impressed with the condition. I finally understand how it actually locks the trunk too. Best I can say is this appears to have been rechromed too. Having never looked closely at these trunk latches before the best I can say is this is original and not a repop item. I also have not seen the Chrysler latch as was posted be George but know some original cars that I can compare this to easily.

Thanks George for this info. Are you telling me that both the Cord and the 1935 35 Chrysler Plymouth used the same latch or is the Chrysler latch a close match?

Looks like a Chrysler Product trunk lock, maybe Plymouth 1934- 35. See the letters on the key. Interchanges with Cord. I have one on my Cord.

Thanks for the comment John. Can you tell me 3 things about this latch please?
Is this a correct key

How does this locking mechanism work with the bottom piece that connects to under the trunk valance

Is the bottom part the same as the left bottom non locking latch? Thanks for any help.

Looks like an original latch to me judging from the corrosion on the back side of the attachment area and the thin chrome plated metal for the rest of the mechanism. To reproduce the thin metal is too costly to be profitable.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationIs this an original trunk latch with key or is this a repop latch? I do not recognise the key maker but am not an authority on this. thanks for any pics or help.
