High hex grade 9 bolts with W, N, 30 (raised marking) are available in most popular sizes.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

If you are going to use "any bolt" be sure it is the proper grade for the application.

Thanks for the reply. Come to think of it: the bolts may be marked with a "30" same as Auburn.

I was told that any bolt on the engine will have a W on the head or could be plain too. The W mark is a raised letter too. Its not simply stamped into the head.. Sad too cause we sure could "make" head bolts or any engine bolt for that matter. I think the most important item on bolts is the thickness of the hex head other than the modern markings we see on most any new bolt today. But if your restoring a runner any bolt will work.

Hi: Anybody know if the bolts that hold the exhaust pipes to the manifold
on an 810-812 have any type of marking? Perhaps a "W"? Or maybe just plain?
Copper coated?
