In case you are interested the last time I checked Doug had two Lafrance engines at the ACD Factory. Fairly reasonable back then.

During the current and first restoration of my 810 Cord I have decided to move away from babbit bearings all together.
The engine had been converted to modern big end shell bearings many years ago but retained babbited main bearings.
A "machine shop friend" is making new main bearings from phosphor bronze bar plus I am converting the block to full flow filtration as per Bill Richardson's guidelines. Babbit bearings were ok when there were no alternatives.
Preserving an engine these days is essential.

Thank you for the info.
I have decided to proceed with my "Spare" engine and search for parts (or repair) as I have
the time.
Luckily, I bought a partial engine from pete kelley a while back.
THANKS PETE!

Andy,
I was able to get some information for you. Paul's Rod and Bearing in Parkville, MO. (816) 587-4747 offers a service to refurbish your existing bearings. You may want to give them a call to see if they can help you out.
Good luck
Pat

Andy,
I have a friend who is familiar with ALF, I will try and get with him early next week to see if he has any suggestions.

I think that I have found the cause of 'low oil pressure' in my ALF 12.
IIRC, the Auburn 12's had insert bearings on the mains also.
Would any of you have, or know of a source for a replacement bearing
or a modern equivalent?
