I have this exact engine stand. Its capable of holding 2000 lbs. I used it to rebuild my ford diesel V8 engine that weighs in fully dressed out around 100 lbs.

There is a stand commercially available designed for the longer engines used in trucks. It has a sliding section at one end so the engine is secured at both ends

Hi Curt,
I removed, rebuilt and reinstalled the straight 8 from my 1930 8-95 about 18 months ago. I used a standard engine stand and a sling from a cross beam in my barn to hold the front end. I also set it up on some sturdy saw horses for head work, etc. A load leveler made a huge difference in the process. That engine is long and heavy - be careful.

I picked up a spare straight 8 engine that I want to tear down, what are you all doing for an engine stand? Are you making something custom, please post picks if you have any.

Thanks,
Curt
