I agree with Mark and Curt - I have gone out of my way to find nice original wheels and leave them that way - will say though that they look better painted, but .....

Mark is correct. Clearcoating is a form of over restoration.

Clearcoat helps to impress people/judges at concours events, but does not help for judging at ACD events.
Do whatever makes you happy, it's your car : )
I've witnessed cars with more "bling" tend to fetch higher bids at auction.

I have noticed on a lot of concours restoration that the steering wheel have been cleared.(see attached)
What is your opinion, should it be cleared or not? Would this be considered over restoration?
