I have noticed on a lot of concours restoration that the steering wheel have been cleared.(see attached)
What is your opinion, should it be cleared or not? Would this be considered over restoration?
Thanks,
Richard

Clearcoat helps to impress people/judges at concours events, but does not help for judging at ACD events.
Do whatever makes you happy, it's your car : )
I've witnessed cars with more "bling" tend to fetch higher bids at auction.

Mark is correct. Clearcoating is a form of over restoration.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I agree with Mark and Curt - I have gone out of my way to find nice original wheels and leave them that way - will say though that they look better painted, but .....
