I see that 12 knockoff centers were painted. Have yet to find a eight that is painted.
Here is a pix of Alan Leamy in front of the company headquarters at the time.

Thanks Curt, I don't see any painted black, so I will leave them alone.

The museum has many original factory pictures of 31 - 33 Auburns . I think you will find the items above are natural, not painted.

Thanks Tom for trying.
The car looked much better then it was, all the chrome had to be done and of course the paint, luckily I can paint. I had to take the top off to paint the car and I was worried that I could not get it back to where it was, but as luck has it I did it. All the door gaps were terriable and that was one major job to correct. Lot of incorrect stuff that I had to correct but it's been a nice six months doing it. I will be going to Amelia Island in March. That was on my bucket list and that is why I bought the car.

Richard, the club has a searchable DVD archive of the newsletters, available for a modest sum. It covers 1952-2009, and is probably advertised in a recent newsletter. As a devotee of all things Auburn, you would find it really helpful. Incidentally, your car is looking very, very nice. I was seriously considering it before you purchased it from a friend... Good luck, Tom Hartz

How do I find that article? I looked under newsletter in the forum and could not find 1999.
I have only been a member for six months.
What did it say about the background for 1931 Auburn?
Thanks for your help.

It is my opinion there is no black background in either.

AUBURN background question was created by Rlamb10769
Should the background on the Auburn badges be black?
Thanks,
Richard
