Otherwise the lower end appears to just be a cast iron area. Those 3 small screw in plugs pointing doward might be oil ports. In the pics they appear to be inline with the main bearings. Others with much more hands on experience hopefully will chime in quickly to help you out.
Thanks! This is not my block, it is one I found pictures of so I could use it as an example Mine is still in the car fully assembled.
