Hello,

I don't know the year of production of my Auburn 6-66 AT (serial number: "2877475" / engine number: "6687" or "128 L-6687"). The engine was produces by Continental (28L) with 2-7/8 cylinder bore.

Does somebody know anything about the car?

What means "AT", it is stamed on the serial plate (model: "666AT"?)

Regards

Hello. The year is 1927 the only year Auburn used a Continental 6 in the late 1920s . I will pull the file and get back with you if I have more info on the car. Randy

Hello,
As Randy advised your car is a 1927 6-66A which is very different from the previous 6-66 which shared design features with the 1926 8-88. The A after the 6-66 identifies it as the new model that replaced the 6-66 Lycoming engined car and was introduced in 1927 and it is fitted with the continental motor. It has a 120 inch wheel base and shares some common features with the 1927 8-77 introduced the same year. From the mid to late twenties ID plates I have seen the T after the motor designation means your car is a Tourer, if it was a R it was a roadster and a SD if it was a sedan. This model is uncommon in Australia and I know of only one though I have seen photos of a a roadster and a couple of others on the web.

The car was shipped in 2009 from New Jersey USA to Antwerp Belgium. Then the Auburn was sold to the preowner in Germany.
That's all I know. The preowner told me the auburn was part in private car collection in the USA.
