Hello to every one again. My name is Chris Bull, this is my second project car. I love it to bits, it took me three years of haggling to buy off a nice Auburn gentleman in the auburn club who has been a member for over 52 years, he could see i loved Auburns so he parted with it. I'm not sure if its a 1935 or 1936 as i cant see the number stamped on the chassis.

I brought it with a 1934 motor but has since i brought a 1936 block to make it more original i guess there is a lot of bits and pieces missing in the motor and im missing the gearbox but no need for these items at the moment, all im going to do is oil all my parts up and label and box them, i want to concentrate on restoring the chassis and making a wooden buck for the body either a boatail body which im copying off a 1 18th model which im scaling up to full size but this is very hard when it comes to the cowl. If anyone has taken any measurements off a original boatail or even a replica i would love to hear from you ( i know the original drawings do not exist, as I've asked this question to some Auburn gentlemen in America) my next alternative is to build a 1935 Auburn special coupe or better still a 2 door Auburn coupe (non-supercharge) as i had the cowl and straight eight bonnet non-supercharge and 2 six-cylinder front guards, that way I've just gotta concentrate on the doors back, i even have rusty straight eight running boards for pattern.

So if any one has some measurements they have taken off their own 2 door Cabriolet i would love to hear from you. Would the back guards be the same measurements as the 34 4 door sedan i have? If i cant get any measurements at all i might just loosely make a boatail on my car from the doors back. It would not be the exact measurement as a original and wider as the cowl is wider and the front door shape will be wrong but i guess i would have my boatail roughly after all and it'll never be original anyway, but doesn't everyone agree its better than leaving it how it is as long as i restore the chassis and put a wooden buck over it in the next year then down the track put a steel body over it, it will be slowly heading in the right direction and I'll get a lot of pleasure just looking at it how it is, and maybe the next person after me can put the motor in it. Please post your comments I'll love to hear from you all.
some photos may be double and thats a six cylinder gearbox in the car
