Cabriolets and Phaetons in 1935 were almost all leather and by late 1935-most of 1936 the wear surface was leather and the skirting was artificial leather like our vinyl today. I was speaking generally however about standard vs. deluxe and some standard open cars had art leather on seats and all.

There really isn't a salon model for 1935-36 Auburns. They used this term in 1933 and 34 to designate a higher level, more expensive model that had unique styling and appearance. In 1935-36 it was more like whether a car was standard or deluxe. The deluxe model had a dual ratio rear axle, a tachometer on the dash, and in some models leather upholstery along with minor variations such as chrome headlamps and tail lamps. A catalog is being sent.
Thanks,
Stan
